The 10th Annual Midwest DNA Repair Symposium (AMDRS) will build on the highly successful symposia held over the past nine years. The 10th AMDRS will continue with the principal goal of bringing together scientists from the U.S. Midwestern States to enhance collaborations and to disseminate current knowledge about the mechanisms of maintaining genome stability and how environmental and endogenous DNA damage contribute to human disease.
The objectives of the symposia were established in 1999 at the first meeting in Ann Arbor, MI and have been dutifully carried out by subsequent symposia organizers. The three goals of the AMDRS, to be continued at the 10th AMDRS are:
- To provide a venue for scientists, principally from Midwestern States, to present and discuss the current research in the field.
- To provide students, postdoctoral fellows, and beginning independent investigators the opportunity to present their work to peers and to interact with leaders in the field.
- To enhance interactions between researchers and foster collaborations to address important issues in the field of environmentally induced DNA damage and its impact on human disease.
